Personal Injury Car Accident

The most filed claim of all accident claims combined, in the United States, is for personal injury. Car accidents are the leading cause of all injuries in the United States, and many of these injuries are permanent. Personal injury in a car accident can be as minor as a few cuts and bruises or as serious as amputation and even death. The number one factor in all accidents that results in death is alcohol. On average, one person is killed in a car accident by a drunken driver every 40 hours. While alcohol use appears to be on a decline with the younger generation, it is still used widely in the middle and older class generations. It is estimated that at least three out of every ten motorists will be involved in an alcohol-related car accident at least once in their driving careers. Many of these accidents will result in serious personal injury. Car accident statistics for 2007 indicated that the rate of impaired drivers that were involved in car accidents resulting in fatalities, was 4 times higher at night than during the daylight hours.
