Uninsured Motorist Damage

If an insured motorist should be involved in a car accident with an uninsured motorist, damages sustained by both parties will be the responsibility of each individual party. In other words, each party will be responsible for the cost of repairs and or replacements of their own property. If the insured motorist has uninsured or underinsured motorist coverage, their policy will cover any damages up to the limit specified in the policy. Uninsured motorist coverage does not cover physical injuries. Fourteen percent of all motorists in the United States carry no automobile insurance at all. Uninsured motorist coverage is available in all states, at varying rates, and the language in each policy is exclusive to each individual state. Uninsured motorist coverage is mandatory in New York, Maryland and Illinois, and a motorist is not able to register a motor vehicle without it. Automobile accident claims are the most common type of claim filed in the United States.
