Whiplash Accident

Injuries are very common in an automobile accident, the most common is whiplash. Accident injuries number approximately 3 million annually in the United States, and account for the majority of all accident room visits. Whiplash is an injury to the neck which is caused by the head being suddenly and violently thrust backwards, forwards or from side to side. As a result of this extreme force the neck is extended beyond its natural capabilities and becomes injured. Ligaments and muscles are stretched and torn, and nerves become damaged. Some people suffer permanent disability from whiplash. Accident insurance will cover most medical costs, which can alleviate the financial fallout of whiplash, but many people live with constant pain and diminished capabilities for the rest of their lives.
