Whiplash and car accident have become almost synonymous with each other over the last thirty or so years. This is because whiplash is the number one injury in all car accidents across the globe. Whiplash, a term used to describe a number of different injuries of the neck, presents when the neck is thrust harshly forwards, backwards or from side to side. Ligaments, muscles and nerves can all be very easily damaged in this process. Some people experience pain and suffering for a lifetime from whiplash. Car accidents, albeit are the most common situation in which a person can develop whiplash, are not the only situations in which whiplash presents. The diagnosis, and or treatment of whiplash is the same, however, regardless of how a person developed it. While there is really no definitive treatment for whiplash, rest and immobility play a large role in the necks ability to heal.
