Toddler Killed in Auto Accident

On Saturday, a three-year-old girl was killed when her mother crashed their pickup truck into a larger truck on the San Fernando Blvd. offramp. The accident occurred around 9:30 am when the 50-year-old woman was driving with her husband and daughter. According to police reports, the woman was traveling at unsafe speeds, because the highway was still wet from an earlier rain shower.

After striking the truck, the family then slid into a pole. All three were taken to Holy Cross Hospital to be treated for their injuries. The toddler was pronounced dead, the mother was treated for chest pains and the father had a broken arm and a concussion.

The condition of the other driver was not released to the media. However, police did say that alcohol did not play a role in the deadly crash.
