Serious Crash Between Busy Intersection In California

Riverside, Ca- A serious motor vehicle crash has closed eastbound Alessandro Boulevard between the busy Chicago Avenue intersection and Trafalgar Avenue. Riverside Police Major Accident Investigation Team officers closed the area for investigation.

Riverside Police dispatchers received the report of the two-vehicle collision at 1:14 p.m., Wednesday. Preliminary investigation indicates that the male driver of a mid-1990s Toyota Camry was traveling westbound on Alessandro when he struck the center median before crossing into oncoming traffic. The Camry struck a mid-1990s Toyota Paseo with four occupants. The male driver of the Paseo, a front-seat female adult passenger, and an adult female and an improperly-restrained small child in the backseat, all received injuries of various degrees of seriousness. The right front seat female passenger is in very serious condition.

The driver of the Camry received no serious injury. The five victims were transported to Riverside Community Hospital, Riverside County Medical Center and Loma Linda University Medical Center. No further information is available at this time.
