Driver Blames Faulty Brakes for Fatal Crash

The woman driving a car that stuck and killed a New Hampshire woman has not been charged in connection with the crash.

Police have reported that Robin Young, 43, had just gotten out of her SUV at Haffner's Service Station in Haverhill to dry off the SUV outside the car wash when a car left Route 125, jumped a 15 inch retaining wall, careened through a parking lot, and struck Young.

Marie Pigaga, 43, was behind the wheel of a Mercedes when it hit and killed Young.  Investigations continue to find out how fast Pagaga was driving.

Though Young was pronounced dead at the hospital, her 10 year old daughter, who was waiting in the SUV, was left uninjured.

Pigaga's lawyer described what Pigaga said happened before the accident.  "She was braking for a white van that was in front of her. And as she braked she stated that the brake went directly to the floor and lost steering and braking at that time."
