Speed Limit Modifications Approved for State Highways in Midland County
Recently, MDOT and MSP, in cooperation with the city of Midland, approved speed limit changes for several highways, including changes effective in mid-January 2007 within the city of Midland.
As a result of the traffic survey conducted in the area near downtown Midland, speed limits will be increased in some areas, reduced in others, and will remain the same in those areas where speed modifications were not shown to be necessary.
Following the implementation of these modifications, posted speed limits for the city of Midland will be as follows:
- Eastman Road (US-10 BR):
45 mph from US-10 to S of McGregor Street
35 mph from McGregor Street to the beginning of the divided roadway
25 mph remains in effect during school hours - Indian and Buttles streets (US-10 BR and M-20):
35 mph from Eastman Road split to east of State Street
45 mph from east of State Street to west of the Saginaw Road overpass - M-20 (US-10 BR) freeway:
70 mph from west of the Saginaw Road overpass to US-10 - M-20 (Downtown Midland):
35 mph from the Tittabawassee River Bridge west of Main Street, to Indian Street.
