Fatal Two Vehicle Crash In Virigina

The Chesterfield County Police Department is investigating a two-car crash that killed one person. The crash occurred in the 10000 block of Newby’s Bridge Road at 9:45 a.m.

Police say the crash occurred when a 1996 Honda Accord driven by Enrique Soliano, 23, of the 4100 block of Lamplighter Court, attempted to pass a 2003 Ford F-150 pickup truck on Newby’s Bridge Road. Soliano’s vehicle struck the front of the pickup truck, left the roadway, overturned and hit a tree. A passenger in Soliano’s vehicle, Jose Moises Barrio Granados, 20, also of the 4100 block of Lamplighter Court, died at the scene. Soliano was transported to VCU Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. Another passenger in Soliano’s vehicle, Lucas Antonio Arevalo, 25, of the 6300 block of Amasis Court, was also transported to VCU Medical Center with minor injuries. The driver of the pickup truck was not injured.
